MECT Trails

Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA

The MECT (Manchester Essex Conservation Trust) trails located just off upper School Street in Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA are a labyrinth of 1500 acres of woodland and wetland trails. The trails are fairly well maintained and the elevation changes from flat dirt roads and old cart paths to some steep elevation on the Bear’s Den.  There is a good sized no cost parking area and the trails are dog friendly. As usual don’t forget to bring a map, water, a fully charged cell phone, check the weather forecast, and be mindful of ticks, and bugs in warmer seasons.
