We were blessed with another beautiful day to continue our North of Boston hiking tour at the John J. Donovan Reservation & Sagamore Hill Conservation Area in Hamilton.

The Essex County Greenbelt has done a great job marking trails and we only got turned around (lost) once and clocked about 2.25 miles. There were some bugs and ticks in the shade and high grass but a really nice breeze and a great view at the top of the hill.

There were a couple of 4 legged friends next to the parking lot at the entrance to the trail.

That hat kept the sun and the bugs off my head – worth it!

We made it and what a view!

If you look real hard in the distance, you can see Cape Ann (Halibut Point in Rockport) just above the tree line and just beyond the right-hand corner of that lovely Cape Ann license plate. (MA drivers get a plate at lovecapeann.com!)

The white roads pictured below are covered in crushed clamshells.

We found many different species of plants along our walk, including this poisonous hemlock below!
